Joey's dad was in the air force, so he grew up with a love for airplanes. In college, he decided to take flight lessons, but pursuing aviation ended up on the back burner. 

 

After receiving a Bachelors in Business Education and Master's in Business Administration, Joey spent 20 years teaching high school.  Family medical issues made traveling commercial airlines challenging. He told his wife, Angela, "there has to be a better way" and began to look at ways to make traveling easier for the family. Through encouragement from his wife, he started taking flight lessons and fell in love with aviation all over again.

 

Joey earned his private pilot, instrument rating, commercial pilot and commercial multiengine. He decided to expand his teaching career to aviation by adding ratings for CFI (certified flight instructor), CFII (certified flight instructor-instrument) and MEI (multi-engine instructor). 

 

With a passion for flying and a belief that aviation provides tremendous opportunities both personally and professionally, Joey and Angela founded Dakota Aviation. Joey and his team of CFI's look forward to partnering with people who want to explore the world of aviation.
